Chef Ann Cooper is coming to our conference this October to inspire us about Changing the Way We Feed Our Children. If you haven't had a chance to read her books, here are a few articles she wrote this summer. She has been busy this summer as we all have been with Child Nutrition Reauthorization, our CACFP budgets and renewals.

In June 2015: U.S. News Article by Chef Ann Cooper "The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 led to incredible improvements in our nation's childhood nutrition programs, but upcoming reauthorization of the act could put key provisions ensuring healthy school food in jeopardy. Chef Ann explains what you can do to stay informed and get involved in saving school lunch." - See more

In July: Chef Ann Cooper wrote: "Food companies are changing the formulas of their junk food so they meet government standards for school meals and snacks.School food vendors are promoting their new, exciting products for school lunch and breakfast – and they're not exactly healthy. It doesn't take a detective to see what's going on here. Food companies are changing the formulas of their junk food so they meet U. S. Department of Agriculture standards for school". " Thousands of school food professionals across the country are committed to healthy school food, regardless of SNA's ties to processed-food manufacturers and the rise of the whole-grain donut. Let's make sure Congress supports them and their commitment to our nation's children"...Read more

In August: Congress went home for Summer Recess and everyone got busy with visits to them.

In September: Congress is back to talk about Child Nutrition Reauthorization September 17, 2015. Get your visits in and educate the public and Congress. Lets keep Child Nutrition in the conversation.

In October: Chef Ann Cooper will be with us at the 24th Annual CCFP Roundtable Conference on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Meanwhile, check out the Chef Ann Foundation at http://www.chefannfoundation.org/ and read all about her.
